An exclusive summer collaboration between IBELIV and Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer has brought handcrafted raffia accessories to the heart of Monaco. Throughout July, the St James glasshouse in the Jardins des Boulingrins is hosting a pop-up showcasing a limited collection of bags, hats, clutches, and other accessories made from finely crocheted raffia.
The collection merges artisanal skill with ethical production. Each item is handmade in Madagascar by one of 2,000 Malagasy women employed by IBELIV, a brand founded by Liva Ramanandraibe. Every piece is unique, carrying the signature of its maker, and reflects traditional craftsmanship using natural raffia fibres harvested from remote parts of the island.
IBELIV’s approach to sustainable luxury aligns with Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer’s long-standing commitment to artisanal heritage and environmental responsibility. Since 1863, the group has supported in-house craftsmanship and continues to invest in eco-conscious practices.
This co-branded summer release features five exclusive colour options, each inspired by a property within the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer portfolio: black for Monte-Carlo itself, yellow for Monte-Carlo Beach, turquoise for Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, navy blue for Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, and light grey for Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo.
The accessories are available both at the glasshouse pop-up and in select resort boutiques, offering visitors a chance to take home a product that blends handmade quality, cultural preservation, and modern elegance.
