The Commission for the Verification of Campaign Accounts has launched a new website designed to streamline the management of electoral campaign financing and bolster transparency in Monaco.
The digital portal, located at comptescampagne.gouv.mc, is the result of a collaboration between the Commission and the Inter-ministerial Delegation for Digital Transition (DITN). The development process included technical expertise from the Digital Services Directorate (DSN) and the Information Systems Directorate (DSI).
The Commission was originally established by Law No. 1.389 on 2 July 2012 and was later made a permanent body under Law No. 1.453 on 16 October 2017. Its primary responsibility is to ensure that all campaign financing in the Principality adheres to strict regulatory standards. This includes auditing campaign accounts, assisting candidates and financial agents with their administrative requirements, and providing access to official legislative texts.
Designed to offer clear and centralised information, the new site provides specific resources for candidates and their financial representatives. These tools include details on campaign obligations, provisional electoral timelines, practical guidance sheets, and necessary document templates for the preparation of campaign accounts. The platform also provides information regarding the right to open campaign bank accounts.
Beyond supporting candidates, the website offers the public a comprehensive overview of the Commission’s organisation, composition, and mission. Visitors can access reports from previous national and communal elections, official communiqués, and the full range of laws, ordinances, and decrees applicable to campaign funding.
The launch of the website is part of a wider digital transformation initiative led by the Prince’s Government to modernise public services and improve user accessibility. By providing a single platform for institutional information and practical resources, the Commission aims to support the democratic life of Monaco through increased transparency and ease of access.
