Construction has officially begun on Edgar Suites’ first upscale aparthotel in Nice, marking the company’s expansion into the city’s growing tourism market. The development is a collaboration with SOGEPROM, the real estate subsidiary of Société Générale, and will bring a new hospitality offering to the vibrant port district.
Located at 8 rue Jean-Pierre Papon, near Place du Pin and the historic Old Town, the future residence is expected to open in the second quarter of 2027. The six-storey building will feature the equivalent of 46 hotel rooms in the form of fully furnished, spacious apartments designed for both short and medium stays. Amenities will include luggage storage, a laundry room, lockers, and bicycle facilities.
The project aims to enhance the city’s high-end tourism infrastructure while promoting sustainable urban development. SOGEPROM’s involvement ensures the integration of its “Pacte 3B” standards, which prioritise low carbon impact, biodiversity, and quality of life in all projects. Edgar Suites, certified B Corp since 2024 and an entreprise à mission since 2022, is aligning the residence with its broader commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
The location offers convenient access to public transport, including the tramway connecting the area to Nice Côte d’Azur Airport and city landmarks such as Place Masséna. Positioned near restaurants, shops, and cultural sites, the aparthotel will serve both business travellers and tourists seeking comfort and local immersion.
The development continues Edgar Suites’ national growth strategy, which includes a portfolio of 26 residences in 11 French cities, amounting to 1,400 rooms. The company has invested €160 million in real estate over the last three years. The Nice property follows recent expansions along the Mediterranean coast, including in Cannes.
Founded in 1972, SOGEPROM operates across France, specialising in residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. In 2024, the company reported a turnover of €682.6 million. The new aparthotel in Nice further consolidates its presence in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region and reinforces its commitment to environmentally responsible development.
