Monaco’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Department of Urban Amenities have opened registration for the second edition of the Draw me a garden flower bed design competition, set to take place from 28 March 2026.
The initiative aims to enhance the Principality’s urban landscape while encouraging residents to play an active role in shaping public green spaces. The competition is open to Monaco residents, with places available to both novice and experienced gardeners, subject to registration and capacity.
On 28 March, selected participants will design a pre installed flower bed under the guidance of staff from the Department of Urban Amenities. Plants and tools will be provided on site, allowing participants to focus on the creative aspect of the project.
This year’s theme centres on primary colours, with entrants invited to create their designs using blue, yellow and red. Once completed, participants will be responsible for maintaining their flower beds until the prize giving ceremony in June, giving residents and visitors the chance to see the designs develop over time.
Officials said the project contributes to improving the quality of life in the Principality by expanding and enriching its green spaces. Awards will be presented in June to recognise creativity and commitment to a more pleasant and sustainable urban environment.
The competition forms part of the Prince’s Government policy focused on renaturing the city, led by the Department of Urban Amenities.
Registration closes on 27 February 2026. Applications can be submitted online via Culture.mc or by collecting a registration form from the Department of Cultural Affairs at 4 boulevard des Moulins in Monaco.
