The Monte-Carlo Television Festival has announced that Squeezie, France’s most followed digital content creator, will receive its inaugural Digital Award during this year’s Golden Nymph Awards Ceremony on 17 June at the Grimaldi Forum.
The newly established accolade recognises outstanding innovation, creativity and cultural influence in the digital space. Squeezie, whose real name is Lucas Hauchard, commands an audience of over 19 million subscribers on YouTube and is widely credited with reshaping the French-speaking digital entertainment landscape over the past decade.
Renowned for his immersive content formats and a dynamic presence on both YouTube and Twitch, Squeezie has continually set new standards for digital engagement. His weekly livestreams draw substantial live audiences, while projects such as the GP Explorer — a Formula 4 race exclusively featuring content creators — have broken Twitch viewership records in France. The next edition of the GP Explorer is set to take place in October.
Beyond content creation, Squeezie has demonstrated a keen entrepreneurial flair. He co-founded the esports team Gentle Mates with fellow digital stars Gotaga and Brawks, and in May entered the wellness industry with CIAO, a kombucha brand that launched to immediate commercial success.
His influence has also extended into more traditional cultural spaces. In 2024, he was featured in Merci Internet, a documentary on Prime Video, and became the first digital creator to be immortalised at the Musée Grévin, France’s famed wax museum.
The Digital Award celebrates Squeezie’s wide-ranging contributions to digital culture and signals a growing acknowledgement of the role creators play in shaping contemporary media. With this recognition, the Monte-Carlo Television Festival reinforces its commitment to innovation and the evolving dynamics of the audiovisual industry.
A competitive category for the Digital Award is scheduled to debut at the Festival’s 65th edition in 2026.
