McLaren Racing and global blockchain firm OKX have revealed a striking Riviera-themed livery for the MCL39, set to debut at the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend and continue at the Spanish Grand Prix. The custom design blends 1960s motorsport heritage with modern digital aesthetics, paying homage to McLaren’s past while celebrating a vision for the future.
The elegant livery, which wraps the cars driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, draws inspiration from the golden era of Formula 1, particularly the McLaren M7A that claimed the team’s first victory in 1968. It also honours Bruce McLaren, whose legacy looms large over the team and the sport, marking the anniversary of his passing on 2 June 1970.
Beyond its nostalgic nods, the Riviera livery reflects a transformative moment for OKX, which recently became the first cryptocurrency exchange to secure a MiCA licence in Europe. The announcement underscores the brand’s ambition to lead in regulated digital finance while symbolically bridging the worlds of old money and new financial freedom.
This marks the fourth bespoke livery produced through the OKX-McLaren partnership, reinforcing both brands’ shared commitment to innovation and pushing boundaries. The partnership, forged on creativity and performance, continues to evolve alongside the global shifts in technology, culture and commerce.
Fans attending the Monaco Grand Prix will also see both McLaren drivers sporting exclusive OKX-branded “A New Alternative” race suits, amplifying the campaign’s futuristic and transformative message.
The Riviera design forms part of a wider narrative that connects the timeless glamour of Monte Carlo with the fast-moving, decentralised world of digital finance. In merging legacy with innovation, McLaren and OKX aim to present a fresh identity for the sport—rooted in history, driven by change.
